Product Description

Shinobi is, in essence, a reimagining of the arcade classic for mobile phones. While the levels and the gameplay remain unchanged (Save for the main character being able to take 3 hits before dying) a backstory was added to justify the inclusion of 2 playable characters.

Two ninjas, while undergoing training, stumbled upon a secret organization plotting to take over the ninja world. Both ninjas set out to rescue the captured ninjas and destroy the organization.

Although there were no changes made to the core gameplay, all the graphics have been redrawn with the main character being based on Hotsuma from the PS2 game. The bosses have had their names changed. The children that Joe Musashi had to save in the original game were changed to female ninjas. The controls were adapted for mobile phones so jumping to the platform above is done by holding the jump button.

The game offers the option of saving it after completing each stage and in some stages players may find books dropped by the enemies. Collecting all the books will unlock a third, hidden character.

There are 3 difficulty levels in the game with only the Easy mode being available from the get-go. The Normal and Hard modes can be unlocked after a complete successful playthrough. Completing the game once also unlocks a Challenge mode where the player must survive as long as possible in the shuriken throwing bonus stage.
